Seasons Greetings from symbolic insight and we wish you a wonderful winter holiday season. Our current featured releases are Ghost Knife by XISIX and solar logos by sonolumina. You can read the latest reviews and listen to samples at the links below. This holiday season we suggest you buy gift cards and use gift cards to support local indie music artists. Most of our releases are available at Amazon and iTunes, and this is a great way to divert corporate money back to the artists. Please buy a mp3 single or an entire album from bios+a+ic, entropic advance, sonolumina, or XISIX with your gift cards this year. (direct links at bottom of page). Thanks!

Featured Releases
XISIX, Ghost Knife
Ghost Knife by XISIX is bold musical statement from this electronic magician based in Seattle, Washington. The album mixes elements of techno, drum & bass, hip-hop, glitch, acid, breakcore, hardcore, IDM, and experimental textures, into a singular, cohesive sound. There are eleven original, beat driven, tracks that are fun, quirky, and powerful, and it also includes two remixes. Ghost Knife has momentum and dynamics not often heard in electronic music which give it a living organic feel. http://symbolicinsight.com/ghostknife/
Reviews of Ghost Knife by XISIX
A & A http://www.aidabet.com/issues/342/342reviews.html#XISIX
"Not of this world. Or mine, anyway. Xisix is straight electronics, meandering through virtual worlds as yet undiscovered. Most of these pieces have a trance beat, but they often veer into unexpected territory. Unlike most experimental electronic types, Xisix keeps the beat flowing no matter what. Any and all tangents (there are almost too many to mention) keep one lead tied to that beat and whip around on the loose end. The pieces really take off when four, five or more lines start flapping around the beats at the center. It almost gets too frenzied at times, but the songs are always reined in just enough. There is order at the core, after all. And the beat goes on. Such lovely beat, too. I hoped this album would lope on forever. Oh well. That's what repeat is all about." by Jon Worley
Chain D.L.K. (edit) http://www.chaindlk.com/reviews/?id=7323
"OK. It's time for a walk down memory lane, because this reminds me of some old school stuff. Start with a bit of 'Belief' era Nitzer Ebb with The Orb and a bit of Orbital thrown in for good measure. In some places it reminds me of Ipecac Loop. I could definitely see this making it into a DJ set and working well in the club. After a while it grows on you though. For me Raverobber (D Gross Remix) was one of the high points on the disc."

solar logos, sonolumina
The debut album by sonolumina created at symbolic insight studios by bios+a+ic and bahiya over a six-year period. The music features a variety of source by musicians which was reworked and processed to create a new innovative sound. Nine unique tracks take the listener on a journey from modern American belly dance fusion around the world to Eastern inspired IDM grooves which draw from both current electronic trends and ancient tribal traditions.

Review (new) for sonolumina, solar logos
Sea of Tranquility (Norway) http://www.seaoftranquility.org/reviews.php?op=showcontent&id=13741
"Solar Logos is the band's debut effort and is made of nine compositions, all of which last over an hour. The vocals here and more in the vein of samplings, so this is actually an instrumental body of music. The overall flavor of this music is aiming more towards Oriental influences than American. Mind you, there are some dance beats incorporated into the compositions as well as belly dancing type of rhythms. Tom tom, tambourine and unknown percussion are tracing the beat to accompany all sorts of processed instruments and samplings. To be quite frank, I have not really heard trumpet on this disc, so it must be pretty much transformed. On the other hand, I could hear lots of ambient keyboard passages and spacey violin. I believe one has to see this act live to truly appreciate this album. The overall sonic structure depicts dark, experimental and somewhat psychedelic scenery."
